Children’s Space in our Sanctuary

We are rolling out the carpet (literally!) to create a Children’s Space within our sanctuary! We are a welcoming community at St. John’s and we want to welcome and encourage families with young children to participate in and enjoy our worship services. Our Cry Room is always available for those children who need a quiet/calm space.

Matthew 10:14 – He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of t God belongs to such as these.”

  • By welcoming kids, we are making their parents/caregivers feel welcome too!
  • Kids learn by participating and observing!
  • We are working to strengthen our intergenerational relationships!
  • Children become familiar with liturgy and common prayers!

Our new Children’s Space is an area created for our youngest members to allow them to get the wiggles out and move freely, while still hearing and experiencing worship. We encourage older children to remain in the pews with their families surrounding the Children’s Space. This area is a work in progress and we will make adjustments as we move forward to determine the best use of this space. Thank you for helping to make our young families feel welcome at St. John’s!
