The St. John’s Ministry Planning Team and ministry leaders are kicking off the “We are a Church of Stewards” activities for 2019 with Time and Talent worship services on March 2 and 3. The first weekend of each month is our Name Tag Saturday / Sunday to remind us that we can better be “Church Together” when we know each other’s names and develop relationships with fellow members. The Time and Talent services will help identify our individual and collective gifts. During the second half of the worship service, you will be invited into small group discussions of the following questions:
• What sharing of gifts do you most appreciate at St. John’s and in your larger community?
• What are you now doing or what could you imagine getting involved in?
Leaders at each table will help you complete an updated Time and Talent sheet that identifies areas you are interested in and any skills or special life experiences you may want to describe. Your Time and Talent sheet information is an important resource and we appreciate your willingness to serve!
The areas of ministry to serve are “Opportunities for Growing in Christ”, “Ministry of Serving”, “Ministry of Welcome and Worship”, “Ministry of Leadership”, “Ministry of Education”, “Ministry in and Around God’s House”, and “Ministry of Outreach with Partners”.
Once your time and talent sheets have been entered into our new software program, we will send you an invitation to our “St. John’s Member Portal”. Here you will set up your own login to access your member portal. You will then have the opportunity to update your demographic information, see your giving statements at any point during the year and even print them yourself at the end of the year. You will also be able to update your time and talent information at any time. This information in the program will be used to easily organize and communicate events or information pertinent to your selections. We will also have the capability in the near future of communicating through texts as well.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
